Thrive Clinical Counseling’s mission is to assist anxiety disorder patients, those with generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, childhood originating PTSD, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Those with PTSD often have comorbid mood disorder as well as substance use and abuse. There is an answer for them, that they may not have found in traditional CBT, emotive therapy and relapse prevention.
Sometimes with traditional CBT a client still intellectualizes his or her life but is not connected with their own emotional world. Sometimes they seek emotive therapy, but still feel empty. After sobriety, CBT, REBT, and relapse prevention there are many who still feel disconnected from themselves. A lot of adults who were abused as children live in their heads--they don't know what it feels like to fully occupy and feel the experience of living in their whole body. Some had to be dissociative to survive the dangerous homes they grew up in. There has to be an answer!!
And there IS an answer!
At Thrive Clinical Counseling the therapeutic modality is carefully prescribed by the patient’s characteristics and is a collaborative relationship. Each patient’s treatment is custom built to get at the source of their PTSD, how the brain and their character evolved around the chaos, dysfunction, and trauma of a troubled home. This can include hypnotherapy or meditative therapy, if client characteristics call for it.
Thrive Clinical Counseling utilizes cognitive behavior therapy, relapse prevention therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, hypnotherapy, mediative experiences, systematic desensitization custom for the specific client, debriefing, and extinction techniques.
